Fern Ridge Trail

Fern Ridge Trail has 4 miles of single-track mountain bike/winter fat-bike trails and 1.4 miles of hike/snowshoe trails.  The mountain bike loops are one-way single-track flow trails that any skill can manage. Every feature has an alternate option for those that are less adventurous. The two hike/snowshoe loops are at a somewhat rugged, intermediate level offering striking contrasts in terrain and a bog boardwalk.  Special attention is given to the many wildflowers, trees and non-flowering plants that make the trail beautiful during all seasons, including late season mushrooms. Picnic tables available at the trailhead so pack a lunch and enjoy!

Mountain Biking / Winter Fat Biking
    • Helmets are required on bike trails
    • Do not ride on wet trails, especially those with standing water, to avoid damage.  If your tires leave a mark, consider the trails closed!
    • All bike trails are one-way – obey the Do Not Enter signs
    • Do not do anything that degrades the trail or trail grooming
    • Bike trails intersect frequently with the hiking and snowshoe trails -– use caution and pay attention to trail crossing signs
    • The only E-Bikes allowed on these trails are pedal-assist bikes.
    • Call out “behind” or “pass” if you want to pass
    • If someone wants to pass, pull over when safe to let them go by
    • Share the trail and respect all riders and hikers

    Hiking / Snowshoeing
    • Hiking/snowshoeing trails intersect frequently with the bike trails -– use caution and pay attention to trail crossing signs!  Bikers have the right-of-way.
    • Hiking is NOT ALLOWED on the mountain bike trails.  Walking on mountain bike trails is inherently dangerous for you and cyclists due to bikers moving at fast speeds.
    • Hiking trails are marked with Red/Blue signs and may travel in both directions.

    DOGS
    • No dogs are allowed on the bike trails
    • Dogs are allowed on the hike/snowshoe trails, but MUST BE ON A LEASH at all times per town ordinance.
